Thoughts about my future

Alright I'm gonna try and push out a post in a short 15 minute train ride from campus to home. 

I've been having these thoughts but yesterday's Odyssey 2020 (a mentoring and networking event) more or less confirmed the fact that I have ambitious plans with little to no industry knowledge and direction.

I have lofty aims of going into Foreign Relations, and if that doesn't work out then attempt to go into the Consulting industry - as if that isn't difficult on its own. 

Jumping the question of whether I truly want to go into those industries, I've come to a realization that I lack knowledge of the norms, practices and need-to-knows of those industries, especially in relation to peers my age. 

Cutting this post abruptly, I feel like I will never reach some of the heights that some of my peers can professionally and I feel like I have implicitly accepted mediocrity within my lifestyle.

Just an update

Hi, So I found out that I still had this old blogspot account of mine from back in 2010 about a month ago and I decided I might as well use it as a diary of some sort. Fast forward about 7 years from then, and many things have changed. I've done a few questionable things, I've had happy memories, sad ones but I don't regret the position which I'm at now. Serving my National Service at Geylang Neighbourhood Police Centre probably makes me very privileged and I'm waiting to go to SMU to further my studies after I ORD, yet I feel no sense of purpose nor motivation in life. I spend my free time playing and watching shows and yeah sometimes I do enjoy it but I feel like I've lost the drive, passion, curiosity that pushed me to do new stuff, find out about things and what not y'know. Maybe it's just NS making me feel like this, useless and redundant and what not, but then again I feel it shouldn't be an excuse to be this slack. I wanna be productive

A problem I encountered and how I solved or managed it

KK Hospital Almost everyone knows my hand got fractured recently. In the previous post,I told you about how my hand got fractured.And of course,I ALMOST solved it by going to the hospital.I went to Singapore General Hospital and I went to the Emergency centre.I waited for like 30 mins before I saw a nurse.The nurse took my blood pressure(I think?) and then I had to wait again for like another 45mins before I could see a real doctor.The doctor asked me to clench my fists,move my fingers then he asked me to take an x-ray.So,I waited for 15 minutes and then I took my x-ray.After that,I had to see the doctor again but I had to wait for 1 hour for that.After that,the doctor looked at the X-ray and told me that it was a sprain.So,I went home,relieved. Radiant rays of the sun enveloped my neighbourhood. I woke up after a long day passed.I looked at my hand to check whether the swelling decreased.I was still wondering how a sprain could look so scary.That day flew very fast.I didn't

My thoughts

This isn't an one-time occurrence. Almost everyday or every other day atleast, there would be a certain event that makes me reflect on my actions and subsequently makes me think and feel that I have to improve myself to be a better person and that there are actions I can take to achieve that. The problem, however, is that I rarely act upon on these thoughts in a successful manner. Yeah, many times I have done what I felt were the right steps to enhance myself but I never sustain these measures. Consistency and determination are two attributes I desperately lack. My day to day life is always so lacklustre and I always expect my life to be better than this yet I do nothing to make it as such. Above it all, I feel like I know where my problems lie but I just don't bring myself to rectify them. I stick to my easy lifestyle way too much.
