My Review of 2017

Okay so the inspiration for this post came about when I was talking to my friend about how we should take note of the main events that occurred each year and compare it with the previous years which seemed like a really good idea. It got me to thinking and I was considering where I should diary down my year reviews and I thought what better way to resume my blog posts so hey ho let's go.

2017

Alright SO 2017 was my main year of National Service. There were many NS-related events and 'firsts' which I definitely can't ignore.

Apart from that though, hmmm in comparison to previous years, I actually hadn't travelled out of Singapore for a good 2-3 years since sort of my O levels really due to education commitments and what not. To be frank, I hadn't even stepped into Malaysia other than on a school trip wow. So really 2017 I was determined to travel out more and I also wanted to cherish every trip no matter how big or small it could be. Soooooo
In 2017, the places that I've visited globally ARE:

  • Nagore, Karaikal, Madras, Trichy and Nagappattinam in India - This trip was for my cousin's wedding, who is aka Usama Kakka to me. Though I've been to India numerous times to visit my relatives, there were a few firsts for me. I went to the Karaikal beach for the first time and the wind was really strong and we even got drenched in the rain but it was overall a fun experience. We even had nice dinner at a restaurant in Karaikal. Also, I took a train back to Trichy I think which was interesting to say the least.




  • Jakarta, Indonesia - With my parents! Had a LOT of fun. Definitely a memorable trip for me. We visited the biggest mosque in SE Asia where the pic below was taken. Hmmm ate Nasi Padang which was just lovely. Visited Dad's office in Jakarta. Met Ikram Uncle who was just lovely and gave us very good food. Also went to Taman Mini which had a small cable car, many small exhibitions and had a fake-KFC where we ate at anw haha. Did some shopping at some Wholesale building as well.
  • Johor Bahru, Malaysia - Tbh not sure who I went with. I THINK its with my grandma, my aunt and my 2 cousins. Did shopping the whole day pretty much but was still fun. Hadn't gone to JB in a long time to be fair.
  • Bangkok, Thailand - MY BEST Trip to date! YAY to first time going overseas with friends!!! Went BKK from I think 16 Dec to 20 Dec 2017. Great FUN Trip. Did hell lot of shopping hahaha. Hmmm to list it out - Chatuchak, Asiatique, Old & New Train Markets (which were great btw for shopping and the atmosphere), Pratunam. Ate at A&W, Ordered Macs Delivery which was funny as hell, Street Food near our Airbnb which was sooo good damn hahah. Also went to TrueLove Cafe @ Neverland and the huskies were adorable!! Too many photos for this BKK Trip for me to choose from but a brilliant way to end off the year and to also meet Shaun my childhood friend after he just left for UK!!
Other Main events in 2017:
  • Hmm Shaun left for UK - cutting down our 'Aljunied United' to 6. Talking of Shaun, had his birthday party in a MBS Suite which was wowz. 
  • Ooo my Sis left for USA in Jan/Feb.
  • My pri sch friend, Ahsifah, joined my NPCO team as a regular in Nov/Dec
Can't think of anything else rn possibly because its 2.30 am on a Tuesday morning (24 April 2018). I'll add in more if there's any I can think of. Feel satisfied and accomplished that I did this tbh. Will try and recall 2016 if possible HAHA. and Maybe even a monthly review for my 2018!!! Ciao for now guys!

Just an update

Hi, So I found out that I still had this old blogspot account of mine from back in 2010 about a month ago and I decided I might as well use it as a diary of some sort. Fast forward about 7 years from then, and many things have changed. I've done a few questionable things, I've had happy memories, sad ones but I don't regret the position which I'm at now. Serving my National Service at Geylang Neighbourhood Police Centre probably makes me very privileged and I'm waiting to go to SMU to further my studies after I ORD, yet I feel no sense of purpose nor motivation in life. I spend my free time playing and watching shows and yeah sometimes I do enjoy it but I feel like I've lost the drive, passion, curiosity that pushed me to do new stuff, find out about things and what not y'know. Maybe it's just NS making me feel like this, useless and redundant and what not, but then again I feel it shouldn't be an excuse to be this slack. I wanna be productive

A problem I encountered and how I solved or managed it

KK Hospital Almost everyone knows my hand got fractured recently. In the previous post,I told you about how my hand got fractured.And of course,I ALMOST solved it by going to the hospital.I went to Singapore General Hospital and I went to the Emergency centre.I waited for like 30 mins before I saw a nurse.The nurse took my blood pressure(I think?) and then I had to wait again for like another 45mins before I could see a real doctor.The doctor asked me to clench my fists,move my fingers then he asked me to take an x-ray.So,I waited for 15 minutes and then I took my x-ray.After that,I had to see the doctor again but I had to wait for 1 hour for that.After that,the doctor looked at the X-ray and told me that it was a sprain.So,I went home,relieved. Radiant rays of the sun enveloped my neighbourhood. I woke up after a long day passed.I looked at my hand to check whether the swelling decreased.I was still wondering how a sprain could look so scary.That day flew very fast.I didn't

My thoughts

This isn't an one-time occurrence. Almost everyday or every other day atleast, there would be a certain event that makes me reflect on my actions and subsequently makes me think and feel that I have to improve myself to be a better person and that there are actions I can take to achieve that. The problem, however, is that I rarely act upon on these thoughts in a successful manner. Yeah, many times I have done what I felt were the right steps to enhance myself but I never sustain these measures. Consistency and determination are two attributes I desperately lack. My day to day life is always so lacklustre and I always expect my life to be better than this yet I do nothing to make it as such. Above it all, I feel like I know where my problems lie but I just don't bring myself to rectify them. I stick to my easy lifestyle way too much. I feel that in the end, it is up to myself to gather the willpower to better myself but when will that day come? Where or who should I be lo
