Thoughts about my future
Alright I'm gonna try and push out a post in a short 15 minute train ride from campus to home. I've been having these thoughts but yesterday's Odyssey 2020 (a mentoring and networking event) more or less confirmed the fact that I have ambitious plans with little to no industry knowledge and direction. I have lofty aims of going into Foreign Relations, and if that doesn't work out then attempt to go into the Consulting industry - as if that isn't difficult on its own. Jumping the question of whether I truly want to go into those industries, I've come to a realization that I lack knowledge of the norms, practices and need-to-knows of those industries, especially in relation to peers my age. Cutting this post abruptly, I feel like I will never reach some of the heights that some of my peers can professionally and I feel like I have implicitly accepted mediocrity within my lifestyle.
